This chapter in Awakened By Death: Stories of Transformation; is from Garnet Schulhauser, it is part of his 4th book; Dance of Eternal Rapture. Garnet, who has been shown many wondrous and amazing things on the other side by his spirit guide Albert, leaves his physical body at night to venture the cosmos in his astral body with Albert by his side. In this chapter Garnet joins a psychic reading from the spirit side, while he is in his astral form. He witnesses a little girl, who was tragically killed, speak with her parents through a medium.. This is a fascinating chapter as Emma, the little girl, from her perspective in the spirit realm, shares some extraordinary guidance about the other side and why people die young and often tragically. This chapter is a must read for any parent who has lost a young child.
Angela was watching her seven-year-old daughter, Emma, trying to catch butterflies in a little net affixed to a short pole. Emma had no luck catching any of the colorful insects, but she giggled cheerfully as she ran to and fro in hot pursuit. Then Angela’s phone emitted a short jingle, signaling an incoming text message. Reluctantly, Angela pulled her phone out of her pocket and focused on the text from one of her work colleagues. It was an urgent message requiring an immediate response from Angela. Several minutes later, Angela looked up to ensure her daughter was OK, but Emma was nowhere in sight. Angela quickly scanned the area by her bench and shouted Emma’s name, her anxiety increasing with each passing moment.
And then panic began to grip Angela, as she feared the worst. Emma had never before wandered off on her own and this was totally unlike her. She sprinted around the park frantically, asking everyone in the vicinity if they had seen her little girl. Much to her dismay, no one had seen her daughter, and Angela had no idea where to search next. With tears streaming down her cheeks, she called her husband Jeffrey to plead for help. He arrived shortly, and the two of them expanded the search in ever-widening circles without any success.
They called the police and a search party was organized to scour the nearby forest. By now Angela was inconsolable and had to be sedated. Jeffrey left her at home with relatives as he continued to search through the night. Two days later, Emma’s body was found in a thicket of trees a couple of miles from where she was last seen. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Emma had wandered into the forest chasing a butterfly while Angela was focused on her phone. The perpetrator had snatched Emma when no one was looking and quietly disappeared into the forest.
In the days that followed, Emma’s parents, especially Angela, were overcome with grief. Angela could not forgive herself for allowing Emma out of her sight, and she seriously considered suicide as a way to relieve her pain. Jeffrey, who was desperate to find relief for his wife, followed the advice of a friend and arranged for them to have a reading with a respected medium, Alice, who lived in their city.
They arrived at Alice’s house at the appointed hour not knowing what to expect, but hoping to find comfort about what happened to their daughter. Alice invited them to sit in her living room and the reading began. At this point Albert led me out of the Hall of Records and through the streets of Aglaia until we came to a low rectangular building with broad stone steps leading up to a large brass door. Inside we entered a meeting room with three souls seated in a row. Albert explained that these souls had gathered here to participate in the reading with Alice, and we were here to observe the action as they communicated with Angela and Jeffrey through Alice. As soon as Jeffrey had arranged for the reading, his guides had contacted these souls to let them know they should be available to connect with Angela and Jeffrey during the reading, and they all eagerly agreed to participate.
Alice began by saying she was seeing the image of a little girl with a blond ponytail, wearing a blue tank top and white shorts and clutching a pink teddy bear. Alice asked Angela and Jeffrey if this had any meaning for them. Angela began to sob quietly as Jeffrey explained it was the image of their daughter, Emma, who had died recently. He said the pink teddy bear was her favorite stuffed toy that she slept with every night.
One of the souls in the circle, who looked like the little girl described by Alice, could wait no longer and began to speak with great excitement, with her words being relayed to Angela and Jeffrey by Alice:
“Hi Mommy! Hi Daddy! I love you very much. I wish you could be here with me—it is so wonderful.” Angela fought to control her sobbing and finally managed to respond: “Hi Sweetie. We love you to the moon and back. Are you alright? Are you happy? Do you have anyone there to look after you?”
Garnet Schulhauser is a retired lawyer who lives near Victoria, on Vancouver Island, with his wife Cathy. He retired in 2008 and his first book, Dancing on a Stamp, was published in 2012. In Dancing on a Stamp, Garnet recounts how his life changed dramatically one day when he was confronted on the street by a homeless man named Albert (who was actually a wise spirit in disguise). This seemingly chance encounter launched a provocative dialogue with Albert who disclosed startling new revelations about our true nature as eternal souls, the cycle of reincarnation on Earth, and the afterlife that awaits us all. Garnet’s second book, Dancing Forever with Spirit, describes his next encounter with Albert who guided him on a series of astral adventures to visit the Spirit Side, the Akashic Records, distant planets with fascinating life forms, and a human civilization that made the shift to the New Earth. His third book, Dance of Heavenly Bliss, continues the saga of his astral trips with Albert. Garnet describes his most recent astral travels in his fourth book, Dance of Eternal Rapture.
